Calgary Sunterra Keynote

Soup Sisters provided an opportunity for smaller groups of 12 to 20 to come together in the beautiful, intimate kitchen space at Sunterra Market, Keynote.

On the mezzanine level of Sunterra Market, Keynote is the COMMUNITYtable, where food meets function. The beautifully decorated and fully-equipped kitchen and demonstration area is the perfect place to cook, converse and come together.

Lead by a professional Sunterra Chef, you have an opportunity for a great night or afternoon out with friends or business associates. Enjoy kitchen camaraderie while making soup for the women and children at Awo Taan Healing Lodge. Then relax over a delicious bowl of soup accompanied by the perfect wine.

The Awo Taan Healing Lodge provides services and programs to women and children from all cultures, who have suffered from family violence and all forms of abuse, in a uniquely Aboriginal atmosphere. Awo Taan is a 27-bed, full service emergency shelter dedicated to supporting the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual healing and well-being of women during their time of crisis. The shelter offers a full range of in-house crisis and outreach crisis, healing, and prevention programs. There is also a children's program to ensure each child's emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual healing and well-being are supported as well. Soup Sisters wholeheartedly embraces all women in crisis and takes pride in our multi cultural platform for showing we care and our message of support.

Soup Sisters and Broth Brothers charges a participation fee of $65 per person to cover the expenses of ingredients for soup, the venue, equipment, a chef or professional facilitator, and charitable operations. This ensures that the finest ingredients possible are used every time for the soups we provide to women, children and youth. Events are social evenings with lively conversation, chopping, laughter and warm kitchen camaraderie that culminate in a simple, sit-down supper of soup, salad, bread and wine for all participants. Each event produces approximately 150-250 servings of fresh soup that sustains your local shelter with nourishing and nurturing soup each month.

Private corporate team-building events are $95 per person and a partial tax receipt is provided upon request.
